FreeCell is a popular card game that is solitaire-based, which means that only one player is allowed. This game has been incorporated into the Microsoft games that were released with the Windows operating system (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10). In the game, only one standard 52 card deck will be used.
The objective of FreeCell card game is to play all cards by placing them in the four cells at the top right. The bottom card must be an ace. You can then place cards of the same color in the current order, so after the ace the 2, then the 3 until you finish with the lord. You won the game if all the cards were moved to the base cells.
The playing field consists of four basic cells at the top right, four free cells at the top left and the game cards. At the start of the game, the cards are dealt face up in eight columns as usual. Aces can be moved directly to the basic cells at the top right.
You place the other cards of the same color in ascending order. The free cells are the four card positions in the upper left corner of the window. Each cell contains a maximum of one card, which you can put there temporarily if that is convenient for the game.
The game has eight tableau piles, four foundations piles, and four open cells. The four foundations are used to place cards, by suits, from Ace to King. The four open cells can be used to place extra cards. Cards may be moved in and out of these free cells.
FreeCell tableau piles are built downwards by alternating colors. You may only move a pile around the board containing 5 or less cards. This is because the cards below the top card are “placed” in the free cells in order to move them. They will not physically be moved, but there must be space available for the pile move to occur.
Place all the cards into the four foundation piles by suit from Ace to King and you are victorious! Download and start playing FreeCell card game on your Windows PC today.
